====== Solus Rifle ======

Overview Paragraph: The most common weapon in the Raiconian Alliance. Favored by almost any soldier, the Solus is a battle-tested rifle. Used during the Dark Century, it hasn't changed much, with only regular updates of core tech, and heat recapicitors. Reliable, decent range and power, and great accuracy.

Manufacturer: Raiconian Government
Years Produced: Dark Century (2421 RA - Current Year)

History: Created during the Dark Century to suppress the rebels, the Solus was quickly a favorite among the troops, such so that it has not changed except with minor updates to the tech within the rifles.

=== Muzzle Flash and Retort ===

White or Blue Flash, makes a *fhoom* sound when fired. Muzzle flash is bright, but not very large, however it's is circular.

=== Projectile/Beam Appearance (If Applicable) ===

The beam fired is a bright white or blue, and is shaped like any other laser, with the exception it is wider at the muzzle of the weapon. Beam is visible as it's fired, and it is exceptionally bright.

=== Firing Mechanism ===

After obtaining energy from the pulses within the generator, the light is focused, and released. Excess heat that cannot be recapped is vented via vents lining the bottom of the rifle. After a full "cycle" is reached, the gun goes into a "cooldown" stage in which it cools the core, and preps it for another energy wave. Rounds are released as energy pulses are given off from the core. The core recharges itself by the heat it generates, however, as heat recappers do not have 100% efficiency, the core is rendered useless after about 5 cycles.

New energy cores are inserted via the receptacle located above the butt of the gun. The weapon draws energy from this core to fire.

=== Safety and Fire Mode Selector ===

There is no safety mechanism, all are responsible for the weapon after purchase. However, an internal FOF indicator detects whether the target is Friend or Foe, and fires accordingly. (No Friendly Fire, though this setting can be disabled...) Fire modes are selected via gauntlet weapon interface.

Full-Auto, Semi-Auto is activated via a command from the gauntlet.

Weapon is fired in a straight line, though recoil can throw the aim off center if repeated bursts. There is one integrated scope, however it may be taken off, or upgraded, or switched out for a new scope.

=== Attachment Hard Points ===

Attachments may be equipped on the under barrel, and on the top. Some attachments attach to the side of the weapon. There is only room for one attachment on the underbarrel, and one on the top. Two may fit on the sides of the weapon. Attachments are "integrated" into the weapons system, and become part of the weapon, they may be changed out however with a gauntlet command.
