Average Lifespan: 120-135 human years, however some Raiken are known to last over 160 years.
The Differences
- They bleed bright orange
- Have only four fingers and toes, the fingers and toes are slightly longer than human as well
- Have small claws at the ends of each finger and toe
- The entire foot does not touch the ground, the ankle is off the ground, a permanent rise on the foot, which begins at the ends of the metatarsals. (Like a dog's foot)
- Foot also has a backward "toe" of sorts, acting as a stabilizer to keep the Raiken stable due to their raised ankle

- Along each joint, their skin forms hard "scales". These scales are hard, but flexible, and adds protection to the soft joints.
- An extra bone in the arm, forms a ridge along the forearm. This evolved this way during tribal times. The bone is shaped to block blows, however, the bone has little use in modern times, though it is handy in hand-to-hand combat without armor. ( Codenamed : "Fore-arm Fin" )
- From the shoulder reaching almost to the elbow, is a naturally formed armor plate. This is also present from the ankle reaching almost the knee. The armor ends in a point towards the knee and elbow ( Like this: (Shoulder) =====> (Elbow) ) [ ====> is the armor]
- They have introverted legs.
Facial Features
Skin: Their skin usually has a sort of pattern on it, the most common being spaced stripes. The stripes are usually just a darker shade of the normal skin color. Rare patterns are spots, tiger stripes, or no stripes at all.
Skin Color: All Raiken are usually a shade of light blue or teal. Males are generally darker than females, but not always.
Eye Color: The most common eye color is blue, however, a rarity of green, gold, or black eyes
Hair: Raiken hair grows like a mane down their back, reaching a little past their shoulder blades, though it can grow as long as near the end of their spine. The hair looks like a wolf's mane when fighting. ( The hair is raised in hackles )
Hair Color: Brown, Black, Crimson Red, or Orange is the most common hair color. Though Elders and Shifters have pure white hair, and some rarities are a mixed color (Black and White) or a bright gold.
(Undecided) Hair may be given a weak bone structure, allowing it to move, such as curl around someone's neck, however, it wouldn't be strong enough to choke said person.
Facial Hair: None
Ears: Ears are usually somewhat pointed, and usually have fur around the rim. (Fur Color: Blue, White, Red, Orange, Gold, Black, Brown | All colors are equally common, but usually are the same color as hair color, if applicable.)
(Undecided) Tail - Raiken have a prehensile tail, that is lined with spikes on both sides, and a single spike on the end. Useful for melee combat, but is not recommended for picking up fragile objects.
The Genetic Disease, Theri Vuru Savar
The Theri Vuru Savar (Reward and Price) is a genetic disease that causes Shifters to be born. Shifters are able to control the basic elements to a degree, and are based on a rank system. The genetic disease is rare, and children who bear it are feared and revered. The Reward is the power to control the elements, the price is shortening the Raiken's life, based on the strength of those powers.
Rank 1: -"Reward"- Basic Control of base elements, can only control elements in their "base" form. Can do basic manipulations
- "Price" - Lifespan is cut by 25%
Rank 2: -"Reward"- Enhanced Control over base elements, can only control elements in their "base" form. Can do more complex manipulations, such as controlling fire to attack someone.
- "Price" - Lifespan is cut by 30%
Rank 3: -"Reward"- Enhanced Control over base elements, but can be controlled out of "base" form. Can do complex manipulations, this is the rank where they start to become military assets.
- "Price" - Lifespan is cut by 35%
Rank 4: -"Reward"- Excellent Control over base elements, and starts to have basic control over mixed elements. (Substances that are mixes of elements) Highly dangerous, and a huge asset on the battlefield.
- "Price" - Lifespan is cut by 40%
Rank 5: -"Reward"- Excellent Control over base elements, and enhanced control over mixed elements. A juggernaut of their own right, these are truly feared Raiken
- "Price" - They pay the ultimate price, Lifespan is cut by 50%
The Rarity of the Genetic Trait
The Theri Vuru Savar afflicts less than one percent of the population, and makes them incredibly rare individuals, although, the white hair and green eyes make them easily identified, especially at an early age. Shifters are generally kept on Capital worlds, and very few are actually sent on combat missions.
